The 5th edition of Jasienica Model United Nations, which took place from 24th to 27th
October 2024, introduced some well-deserved innovation. We proposed a new Rules of
Procedure format, following the THIMUN model. Debates got faster, more resolution
oriented, and more amendment friendly. Delegates got a chance to debate, not one, but two
topics in their respective committees. That year we also saw new committees on JASMUN,
most notably a Crisis Committee, which, thanks to the hard work of our team of Crisis
Writers, undertook an ambitious task of resolving the Crisis of the Middle East.

 

JASMUN 2024 lasted an unprecedented span of four days and hosted international delegations from Italy, Hungary, Ukraine, and Belarus. We hosted our conference at the Department of
Linguistics of the University of Warsaw, at the banks of the Vistula River. Thanks to our
partnership with the United Nations Association Poland, we managed to invite
numerous MUN experts to observe and advise during the conference. Last year’s edition has
also hosted prominent speakers, notably Mark Brzezinski, United States ambassador to
Poland.
